Voyeuristic phone simulator ‘Sara Is Missing’ wants us to feel awkward
Where is Sara? Who is Sara, and what happened to her? We don’t know. All we have is her phone and a futuristic AI guiding us.
Monsoon Lab from Malaysia has created a spooky adventure where players will explore a haunting story by interacting with a simulated smartphone interface. Players must read text messages, scan through photos and videos, and search for clues about Sara’s whereabouts. The game draws inspiration from games and films like Replica, Her Story, and The Ring.

“Sara is Missing” is currently under development, but a demo version is available to download on itch.io or Google Play. The game’s aim is to provide an interactive novel experience with elements of searching for clues and some very frightening moments. The game’s atmosphere is built not only through jump scares but also through the strange and voyeuristic feeling of peering into someone’s (digital) life. Furthermore, Monsoon Lab promises multiple endings based on the player’s choices. So far, “Sara Is Missing” has shown a lot of promise, and we hope that the developers can maintain this level of quality in the final product.

In the meantime, check out the demo and this gameplay trailer:
