Indie Jam 2025 Celebrates a Weekend of Southeast Asian Indie Games
The Magic Rain lights up Malaysia and Southeast Asia’s gamedev scene with a jampacked weekend of free-entry events, this coming April 26-27, 2025 at the Xsolla Curine Academy, Kuala Lumpur.
Featuring over 35 of the Southeast Asian gamedev industry’s brightest stars, Indie Jam 2025 invites gamers, game developers, students, enthusiasts, and more to experience a celebration of the vibrant community.
Here are some of the key events of the weekend:
Student Game Jam
Putting the “Jam” in the Indie Jam is a special competition focused on challenging talented student and beginner game developers. These mini-projects will be featured in a demo showcase, subject to a panel of judges and a public vote by attendees. The winner will receive RM60,000 value of Xsolla Curine Academy scholarships.
Indie Jam Industry Talk Series
Interested in learning more about gamedev? Industry professionals from Critical Reflex, Toge Productions, Neon Doctrine, Passion Republic, Springloaded, University of Wollongong Malaysia, and more provide scheduled talks on specific topics, sharing their lived experience in the wild but fulfilling world of game development.
IGDA Mentor Cafe
Indie Jam is also the first-ever event to host the International Game Developers Association’s Mentor Cafe series, scheduled on April 26. Following IGDA’s signature format, the Mentor Cafe is an event that helps create a professional, fun, and inclusive environment for networking within the games industry.

Indie Jam Direct and After Jam
In partnership with SEAGamethetic, Indie Jam Direct is a Steam and itch.io event with the participating games and developers from April 19 to May 11. In collaboration with The Cham Drinkers, Neon Doctrine, and SoftSource Publishing, After Jam also involves Southeast Asian content creators taking in-depth looks at the featured games from April 28 to May 4.
