Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly Announced

August 31, 2021 | Andreas Betsche

Coffee brewing and cosy chats will continue as Toge Productions has announced the continuation of Coffee Talk, the barista visual novel highly praised by fans and critics alike. The long-awaited sequel is coming under the name Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly and was showcased with a brief announcement trailer shown at The Indie Houses Direct, a live stream organised by several indie studios.

Coffee Talk’s second episode remains graphically and playfully faithful to the original and, above all, wants to tell new stories with familiar and new characters, whose fate we, as a barista, can influence with warm words and creative drinks. We don’t yet know what new content will be available exactly. Still, we can already infer new recipes and chill-hop tracks based on the image material in addition to new characters. Above all, fans seem to get more of what they particularly like about Coffee Talk!

However, it will take a while before we can visit our favourite café in Seattle again; the game’s Steam page only vaguely speaks of a release for PC in 2022.

More news from Toge Productions

There were even more announcements from the Indonesian studio and publisher in the stream: There will be a nicely drawn webcomic for the upcoming 90s adventure A Space for the Unbound, and the emotional point & click adventure When The Past Was Around will be released for mobile devices soon.

Toge Productions will also be releasing the Brazilian-made tactical RPG Vanaris Tactics. Exciting times for fans of one of the most renowned game companies in Southeast Asia!
