New Games from Vietnam in 2020
The end of 2019 is approaching, so let’s look forward to the upcoming year! Which gaming highlights await us from Vietnam? The country is best known for its free-to-play games for smartphones and tablets, and one of the particularly good representatives last year was Boom Battlefield. But what about the developers who develop for PCs and consoles? Here are two exciting games that have been announced for 2020.
Peaceful Days

Are you a fan of Harvest Moon, but miss the good old pixel style? Then Peaceful Days could be the right thing for you. Developer Nhat Nguyen wants to bring back to the classic farming simulation – and thus a recommendation for those who already have enough of Stardew Valley. Harvesting, questing and maintaining your own farm – there will also be social relationships and even a dungeon-esque mine to explore. The game should be released at the beginning of 2020 as it will start in the Early Access program on Steam. We’ll whether Peaceful Days can keep up with its big role models – or die of a quiet and peaceful death.
Tank Brawl 2

As the name suggest, Tank Brawl 2 is less peaceful: in this multiplayer top down shooter, teams of up to three tank drivers fight each other in intense battles. The developer brothers of Phung Games from Hanoi even promise the “best tank game ever“. What we have seen so far looks promising at least: short but intense matches in effective graphics, different classes and vehicles to control (tanks, jeeps, mechs) and a campaign that can be played alone or in coop. Interested players can try the demo on Steam. If everything goes according to plan, it should start in the first quarter of 2020 on PC. If the versions for XboxOne, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch will be available at the same time, remains to be seen.
What else?

Outside the mobile market, it looks rather meager for 2020 as far as major game releases from Vietnam are concerned. We can not wait to see which pearls await us next year for mobile devices though.Other than that, it will be interesting to see if we can count on the remake of “7554” – the Vietnamese Call of Duty. Some time ago, Hiker Games hinted at reviving their 2016 3D shooter set in the French Indochina War without giving any more info. We stay tuned and hope to hear more about it in 2020!
