Thai Deckbuilder Northwind Releases Demo On Steam
A demo for Northwind, an upcoming rogue-lite deckbuilding game set to compete with popular games like Slay The Spire and Monster Train, was released on Steam on March 18, 2024.
Developed by Barking Kitten Interactive, a Thai studio, the game promises to offer players innovative gameplay mechanics that will set them apart from the competition while building proven standards in the genre.
In Northwind, players play as mercenaries and can customize their playing decks. The game’s core mechanics involve mana management, card stacking, levelling up, and equipment gathering. Players can discover and craft new cards, and the game features roguelike mechanics that add to the challenge. Additionally, players can upgrade to the eponymous hometown, Northwind, to unlock new features and bonuses.
After not meeting the initial release date in 2023, Northwind is expected to be released on Steam Early Access in mid-2024.
