Visual Novel “Who Murdered My Empress?” Launching on Steam on June 21st
The time-travel romance visual novel “Who Murdered My Empress?” from developer Little Snake Studio will be released on Steam on June 21st, 2024. The game takes place in a fantastical realm inspired by 19th-century Vietnam.
In “Who Murdered My Empress?”, players take on the role of Mai, a police officer from the present day who awakens in the year 1845 in the body of the country’s infamous and lustful Empress ruler. With knowledge from history books, Mai aims to uncover the truth behind her arrival in the past while navigating court intrigue and political turmoil to avoid mutiny and war.
A key part of the story involves Mai’s interactions and romance with Vu Huyen, a mysterious man, and other consort husbands. She keeps her true identity secret from them due to their hidden motives.
After completing the main storyline, players can work towards unlocking seven different endings and an additional male character route. Certain in-game challenges also allow unlocking three romance scenes with other characters.
The game promises to provide a cultural experience, allowing players to collect Vietnamese food dishes and visit over 40 locations inspired by Vietnam’s feudal architecture throughout the story.
