Game publisher Astrolabe Games announced the upcoming release of Zombie Soup, developed by Aeonsparx Interactive from Malaysia. This game is set to debut on Steam Early Access on June 7, 2023, and will offer a fascinating gameplay experience by integrating twin-stick shooting, puzzle-solving, and hack-and-slash action into a surreal “Día de los Muertos”-inspired 80s setting.

The Peculiar Town of Zombie Soup

Set in a peculiar little town, Zombie Soup thrusts Ricky into an unexpected adventure when he discovers that the town’s inhabitants have transformed into bloodthirsty zombies. Determined to rescue Ashley, a young girl he recently met, Ricky teams up with the mysterious MC Skully, a talking skull, to navigate the treacherous town and face challenging bosses.

Diverse Combat Options in Zombie Soup: Choose Your Playstyle

The combat in Zombie Soup is said to offer a range of options to cater to different playstyles. Players can excel as skilled snipers, close-quarters combat specialists, or experts in explosive weaponry. Ricky will encounter challenging timed trials and boss fights, with successful completion rewarding players with even more powerful weaponry.

Over 10 Hours of Content in Early Access

The Early Access version of the game will provide players with over 10 hours of enjoyable content. According to Astrolabe Games, all levels are fully developed and feature a variety of weapons and challenging enemies for players to conquer.

Unlockable Weapons and Tools: Arm Yourself for the Battle

Zombie Soup will offer over 50 unlockable weapons, including classics such as the felling axe, katana, and shotgun. Additionally, players will encounter self-defense tools like the bazooka, firework gun, and railgun. As players progress, they will unravel the chaos’s origins and end the nightmarish ordeal, all while savoring Mexican cuisine and collecting handcrafted souvenirs.

Aeonsparx Interactive: The Malaysian Studio Behind Zombie Soup

Aeonsparx Interactive, the Malaysian development studio behind Zombie Soup, has already gained recognition in the gaming industry. The game secured the third-place position in the esteemed “PC Indie Pitch” competition and received nominations for Best Game Design, Best Technology, and Best Audio at Level Up KL.

Zombie Soup will be launched on Steam on June 7, 2023, allowing gamers to embark on an adventurous journey teeming with zombies.
