Turn-based Mecha RPG Zecha Tactics Is Coming To Early Access Later This Year

There are game tropes that never get boring. This can easily be said about about Mechas, gigantic human-controlled combat robots. Originally borrowed from the Japanese manga and anime scene, Mechas have also become a popular theme for games of different genres. In the recent past, Thai developers in particular have spoiled us with action-heavy Mecha games (e.g. Project Nimbus, Dual Gear, MASS Builder). Developer Bit Egg now wants to offer a much more strategic flavor with Zecha Tactics.

New Games from Singapore in 2021

Phew. 2020 is almost over, and like many of us, we are relieved that this epidemic year is coming to an end. But not everything went severely, so we were presented with lots of great games from Southeast Asia last year. However, we weren’t quite as impressed by the output and quality coming from Singapore. Although there were a few indie hits (including Gordian Quest, There Is No Tomorrow, or GORSD) and the triple-A productions Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Immortals Fenyx Rising, which were created in cooperation with Ubisoft Singapore, a real highlight was missing. The City of Lions shouldn’t be written off that quickly, though. There are several exciting titles currently in development, most of which might be released as early as 2021. Here are our most-wanted games coming from Singapore next year or beyond!

Arcade-style PBA Basketball Slam is coming to PC on Steam

Renowned Filipino game studio Ranida Games (makers of Bayani) announced that PBA Basketball Slam: Arcade Edition will be released on Steam Early Access in August 2020. The Arcade Edition is the PC version of the popular mobile game Basketball Slam 2020, which features the teams and players of Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Defeat Cabin Fever With Roguelike Deck Builder Gordian Quest

Gordian Quest by Mixed Realms is a deck builder meets DnD game where you control a fantasy hero, grow to a party of three, and set out to kill an evil wizard. You know, as you do with these fantasy games. Now what makes Gordian Quest different from a regular turn-based RPG is that nearly all actions are based on cards, with different characters having separate decks that are further customized via equipment and upgrades from skill trees.

Graywalkers: Purgatory has a long road ahead

Is a good thing worth waiting for? When the Kickstarter campaign for Graywalkers: Purgatory started in September 2014, no one expected the ambitious project would have to face such an odyssey. The first release was announced for 2017, but the game never came out. A good six years after the crowdfunding campaign, the first official version of the post-apocalyptic turn-based role-playing game was finally released in Steam’s Early Access program. We have taken a closer look at Graywalkers: Purgatory and will tell you whether the project has arrived where it was supposed to go.
