Retro shooter in a Southeast Asian setting Angkara: The Horde is coming soon
Boomer shooters are currently extremely popular, and the Southeast Asian version of the genre will be released soon. A preview of Angkara The Horde was featured in the presentation of the shooter genre pioneer 3D Realms’ show Realms Deep 2022.

This is a short tie-in, sort of a prequel to the later game, not the previously revealed Angkara. Angkara: The Horde is primarily meant to be a Horde Survival Shooter in which we will face off against repeating waves of adversaries, as the title already suggests.

The game is being created by the Indonesian studio Trimatra Interactive, which mimics Hexen’s or Quake 2’s 3D retro style. The entire affair is nevertheless transported to a Southeast Asian environment with ancient temples and fantastical creatures. Rocking gamelan music is playing in the fantasy shooter’s background, giving the whole thing a great mood.
On itch.io, a demo will soon be available. In the meantime, find delight in the moody trailer:
