A new operator from Singapore is coming with Season 3 for Rainbow Six: Siege

Publisher Ubisoft has announced Season 3 for the popular multiplayer shooter Rainbow Six Siege with “Operation Brutal Swarm.” In addition to a new map and numerous gameplay improvements, the latest update brings a new playable operator from Singapore.

Operation Brutal Swarm is the title for the new season.

Fans from Southeast Asia and around the world can look forward to stepping into the boots of Grim, a battle-hardened soldier from Singapore. As an expert in stealth, security, and intelligence, Grim relies primarily on high speed but can also take fewer hits. His specialty gadget is the Kawan Hive Launcher System, which allows players to shoot canisters that launch a swarm of bee bots into the air.

Grim, the new Singaporean oprator.

In any case, we welcome the fact that Southeast Asia gets a little more attention in an AAA game with the addition of the new operator. Especially since the developers explain in a video interview that they want to contribute to more diversity in the portrayal of characters of Asian descent with Grim’s design; after all, contrary to typical clichés, Grim is a tall and very muscular man.

Of course, how the Singaporean operator will fit into the ranks of the other fighters gameplay-wise remains to be evaluated. The new season for Rainbow Six: Siege starts on September 6, 2022. You can find more information about Grim and other updates on the official website.
