More Info Revealed on Indonesian Horror Game Project Agni
The survival horror game previously known as Project Agni has officially been renamed Agni: Village of Calamity, as revealed by Indonesian indie studio Separuh Interactive.

This highly anticipated title, which first turned heads with its stunning Unreal Engine 5 visuals, now has a targeted release window in the first half of 2026 for PC, with an Xbox version confirmed to follow. PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch releases are still under consideration.

We learned extensive new details about the game’s premise and features. Players will step into the role of Agni, a newly recruited officer in a covert division of the Indonesian Police Force. Sent to investigate a distress call from the remote village of Desa Purba, Agni’s mission quickly spirals into a harrowing struggle for survival against cosmic horrors and dark secrets.

Agni: Village of Calamity promises to blend the intense atmosphere of classics like Resident Evil and Silent Hill with the rich cultural tapestry of Southeast Asia. The game will feature linear gameplay with exploration elements, an upgrade system, intricate puzzles, and a persistent antagonist similar to Resident Evil’s Nemesis.

Separuh Interactive, led by veteran developer Ardhan Fadhlurrahman as Producer and Co-Founder, aims to deliver a cinematic survival horror experience that draws heavily from Southeast Asian cultural aesthetics and local lore. The game’s art direction and audio design are said to create an immersive and eerie atmosphere that sets it apart from Western-centric horror titles.
While the initial teaser showcased impressive facial animations and a spooky jungle setting, the press release includes several new screenshots depicting the characters and more environments.

With its blend of cultural authenticity, cosmic dread, and cutting-edge graphics, Agni: Village of Calamity is positioning itself as a potential landmark title for the Indonesian game industry. Horror fans and industry watchers alike should be keeping a close eye on this promising project as it progresses towards its 2026 release.
