Malaysian Horror Game Studio Announces Deadly Rehearsal
Kaigan Games, the Malaysian studio known for their acclaimed found-phone horror games Sara is Missing and the SIMULACRA series, has revealed their latest project Deadly Rehearsal with a new trailer.
The game marks a significant departure from the studio’s previous works, featuring a 3D first-person narrative adventure with fully animated cutscenes. Players take on the role of Dodger, a disgraced stage manager hired by a prestigious director to perform a mysterious cursed play.
In Deadly Rehearsal, players must manage theatrical productions while confronting supernatural elements. The story follows Dodger as he attempts to save the cast from gruesome accidents and nightmarish visions plaguing the rehearsal. To break the curse, players need to execute stage cues perfectly, as any mistakes intensify the supernatural threat.
The game takes place in the abandoned Grand Orpheus Theatre, where players will explore the venue, uncover clues about past events, learn the stories of the cast and crew, and solve puzzles.
Deadly Rehearsal is now available to wishlist on Steam, with additional platform announcements and a release date pending.
Alongside this project, Kaigan Games is also developing Nullspace, an RTS/RPG space game, demonstrating the studio’s evolution towards new genres.
