The organizers revealed the schedule for gamescom asia 2022, which will take place in Singapore. A physical Trade Zone will be set up to display the products, services, and knowledge of more than 80 exhibitors from 16 different nations. The festival also revealed national pavilions and a new networking tool, the gamescom biz community. Shows that take place online can be found in the Entertainment Zone.
Gamescom asia, the exclusive satellite event of Gamescom, the biggest video game festival in the world, will take place in Singapore from October 20–22, 2022. The Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre will host a physical Trade Zone and a Conference just for the industry. Together with game previews and demos on the STEAM event website, two virtual shows, PRIMETIME and STUDIO, will showcase worldwide and regional game publishers, trailers, announcements, and more extended game demos in an entirely online Entertainment Zone (B2C). On October 19 and 23, all audiences can watch these segments online.
The Trade Zone at gamescom Asia features an Expo Area and Expo Stage, a Trade Conference, Networking opportunities, and a Developer-Publisher-Investor Speed Dating event from October 20 to 22.
The brands and businesses that are exhibiting at the event, such as AppTweak, Abysse Corp, Click Entertainment, OVHCloud, Kwalee, MegCD, Keywords Studios, Virtuos Holdings, Leoful, Tentuplay, VisualLight, and Yggdrazil Group, will be available for visitors to meet and discuss potential opportunities for collaboration.
Several country pavilions, which are being hosted by trade organizations from Singapore, Germany, and Sweden, will highlight regional game developers and publishers. Aerosoft GmbH, Black Screen Records, NerdStar UG from Germany, Cargo Studio, General Arcade, Lionfish Studios from Singapore, and Friendbase and Lurkit from Sweden are businesses that represent their respective nations.
The talents and potential of indie game developers will also be shown in the Indie Village. Arsanesia, Brace Yourself Games, Gripper, Sprytosaur, Tantanmen Games, and more are among them.
The gamescom biz community app will be available to all registered attendees of gamescom asia 2022, enabling them to interact with exhibitors virtually, schedule meetings, view the conference agenda, and more. Conference attendees will also have access to the app after the event to view the conference sessions on demand. The app will be available year-round as a collaborative digital platform with gamescom and devcom, connecting all three business communities internationally to give visitors updates and chances to create connections through gamescom-related events. Registration as a trade visitor to the expo area is free for the industry and also includes access to the gamescom biz community.
More than 60 speakers from international game developers and publishers, independent game studios, and social media platforms will offer their perspectives on hot topics in the gaming industry throughout the conference. In Singapore, all sessions will be in person.
On top of the already impressive cast from Activision Blizzard, Wizards of the Coast, WolfEye Studios, MOONTON, Sloclap, Ubisoft, and the ESL Pro League, new additions to the schedule include Certain Affinity, Springloaded, Plug In Digital/ Dear Villagers, and Streamline Studios.
Discussions and case studies on design and production, storytelling and art, mobile gaming, community management, business and marketing, payments, and emerging trends will be the main topics. Highlights consist of:
