IGDX 2025: Indonesia Game Rating System Launches, Seeks to Protect Consumers
Bali, 11 October 2025 – The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has officially launched the Indonesia Game Rating System at this year’s Indonesia Game Developer eXchange (IGDX).

The Indonesia Game Rating System (IGRS) is a national classification framework that reflects Indonesia’s cultural values, norms, and traditions. It assigns age-based ratings based on game content, hoping to protect Indonesia’s digital space, especially children and young audiences, by providing clear information on age suitability and content type.
The IGRS also hopes to provide a strong foundation to support sustainable business growth for local developers. With the hope that standardized ratings, transparent content standards, and trusted rating labels, IGRS helps expand domestic market access, strengthen the competitiveness of local games, and facilitate commercial collaboration with global distribution platforms, investors, and international partners.

Shafiq Husein, President of the Indonesian Game Association (AGI), stated: “IGDX Business 2025 demonstrates how collaboration between government and industry communities can create a tangible impact for Indonesia’s game ecosystem. Here, local developers not only connect with global partners but also gain the confidence to position themselves as key players in the international market. Through initiatives such as IGDX and IGRS, we aim to ensure that Indonesia’s game ecosystem continues to grow, thrive, and compete sustainably on a global scale.”
