IGDX 2025 Featured Indie Games: Teller’s Duty
Following VirtualSEA’s coverage of Indonesia Game Developer Exchange (IGDX) 2025, we’re putting the spotlight on 5 games that stood out and represent the skill and diversity in Indonesia’s game development industry.

Teller’s Duty is an indie game developed by Hiscory, a studio based in Batam, Indonesia. Previously known as 4Happy Studios, they also developed Let Me Out, a narrative adventure puzzle game.
With clear inspirations from indie info game hits like Papers, Please by Lucas Pope and Not Tonight by PanicBam, Teller’s Duty has you walk in the shoes, or rather, sit at the desk of a 1980’s bank teller in Kertasia. As you perform your duties as a good office worker, the rules and requirements get increasingly absurd and challenging – testing your attention to detail and the balance of free will and conscience in the process.

The bureaucracy labor simulator also chooses the word “cozy” to describe its experience, perhaps referring to the productive flow state of a desk job. However, its moral quandaries and dystopian humor also contain interesting commentary on society. The Indonesian and Southeast Asian-inspired worldbuilding and references also add a unique flair to this highly sought-after genre of puzzle games.

The game is currently slated for a February 2026 release, and you can follow its page on Steam. Learn more about Teller’s Duty and Hiscory from their website and X page.
