Malaysian Idle Game Weyrdlets Announces Among Us Crossover

The Malaysian virtual pet game Weyrdlets, developed by Weyrdworks, is set to receive a collaboration update featuring content from the global indie phenomenon Among Us.

The free update will go live on November 28, 2024, at 6 PM GMT+8, bringing a variety of Among Us-themed content to the game’s world. Weyrdlets integrates productivity tools with adorable desktop companions.

Among Us meets Weyrdlets

The highlight of the crossover is the introduction of a Mini Crewmate pet from the Among Us universe, which players can unlock in the game. Additionally, the update will include a limited-time 5-day login reward event running during a two-week window. By participating in the event, players can unlock Among Us-themed content such as:

  • Decorations (including interactable ones) 
  • A head accessory 
  • Stickers 

This partnership marks an important milestone for Weyrdworks and showcases Southeast Asia’s growing prominence in the global gaming scene.

What is Weyrdlets?

For those unfamiliar, Weyrdlets is a desktop idle game offering virtual pets designed to accompany users daily. Players can personalise their pets and homes using various accessories and decorations. Weyrdlets also features built-in productivity tools, such as a Pomodoro Timer and a to-do list, making it a hybrid of relaxation and efficiency for players. Andreas Betsche founded Virtual SEA in early 2016 after researching Cambodian mobile games for his Master’s thesis.
